January Update: Open-Source Contributions, YouTube Series & New Engagements

After wrapping up 2025 as our most successful year, we decided to take some ambitious initiatives this year. We were already serving customers from very diverse set of industries and solving some very diverse set of problems, but what could we do more?

What could we do that'd be so ridiculously valuable to the industry and developer community throughout the world.

If we say we love engineering and we aim to be the best engineering firm possible, what does that even mean and look like?

So we came up with a few ways we'd approach that goal.

We decided to start contributing actively to famous Open Source projects and we decided to start sharing our knowledge more actively with everyone.

The goal was a bit too overambitious, but seemed like our team's ambition was higher.

So here we go.

We've contributed over 20 PRs in famous open source repos including Google Gemini CLI, formbricks, lokus & n8n. Some got approved, some closed, but we still got 10 PRs merged 🎉 Here's a bit of summary of our contributions:

google-gemini/gemini-cli

  • Added functionality to enable and disable all hooks at once, eliminating the need to disable hooks individually by name
  • Improved the /help command by replacing a broken relative link for keyboard shortcuts with a valid web URL, ensuring users can directly access correct documentation

n8n-io/n8n

  • Improved email validation behavior by correcting acceptance rules so valid addresses aren't incorrectly rejected. This helps reduce friction in workflows that rely on email-based configuration or identity.

formbricks/formbricks

  • Added search functionality to the team member selection dropdown, allowing users to find members more easily without scrolling through the entire list
  • Fixed placeholder inconsistency on the 'Invite Organization Members' form by removing the misleading labels from the required input fields to properly align with form validation

Automattic/wp-calypso

  • Fixed SMS login issue by correcting the 6-digit verification code placeholder and ensuring the SMS format matches the expected 6-digit pattern.

henrygd/beszel

  • Added tooltips to all clickable elements that lacked descriptive text, including top buttons like Containers and Smart Info, helping users understand their function at a glance
  • Improved hostname visibility by adding tooltips for elided hostnames, allowing users to see the full hostname on hover without affecting the layout

okus-ai/lokus

  • Fixed drag-and-drop in the file explorer to allow moving files and folders to the root level, enabling seamless organization at the top of the vault
  • Added standard bulk selection support using Cmd/Ctrl+click and Shift+click for easy multi-file operations like move, delete, or organize
  • Fixed an issue where inserted templates displayed as raw markdown instead of rendered content, ensuring templates now render immediately with proper formatting and callouts
  • Added clear visual indicators during async operations with spinners and disabled buttons to improve user awareness and prevent duplicate actions
  • Improved accessibility by adding tooltips to icon-only buttons across the UI, making actions clearer for all users, especially those using keyboard navigation and assistive technologies

DeutscheModelUnitedNations / munify-delegator

  • Implemented a comprehensive email communication module for conference delegates. The feature includes opt-in/opt-out functionality in account settings, email delivery via Nodemailer, and complete database logging for auditing purposes and rate limiting. This is a dedicated email system.

We are honored to kick off this new initiative that will allow us to start contibuting to the Open Source community that has always been the basis of computing and engineering.

Launching our first YouTube series on AI

We are also planning to more frequently share our knowledge and expertise to the engineering and business community, and as part of that initiative, our first YouTube series went live this month.

Kicking off 2 new engagements

A great way to start the year. We have kicked off two new engagements, one of them focused heavily on implementation of an AI product that we are super confident can be a huge success. And the other one being a very critical healthcare system that'll make the lives of health professionals easier. We'll be able to share more details as we start making more progress towards the finish line.
